Managed Servers Advantage vs. Dedicated Servers


  Basic managed support and maintenance includes network maintenance, server setup, racking, and configuration; installation of OS's and OS parameters; adding/removing hardware; maintaining basic monitoring services; basic IP services; troubleshooting; responses to work requests and trouble tickets; and client consultation. Customer charges are variable and usage-based. Customer charges are variable and usage-based. Fee is usually based on half-hour increments and charges are $50 per every half-hour. All services can be requested at any time. Additional services can be added via the Work Order Request Form found in “Support” section of SiteControl. Assistance to specific problems can be resolved by generating a trouble-ticket by also going to the “Support” section in SiteControl.

1 For all troubleshooting, repair, installation, and backup services, Hostway requires direct access to the customer's server. TruFlex customer agrees to allow Hostway this access as long as customers would like such services. In the case of backups for Linux or Windows 2000 platform servers, the backup system requires access to the customer's server to copy stored information. Customer acknowledges that it is the customer's responsibility to maintain this access. Changing this information without notifying Hostway will result in cessation of backup services at no fault to Hostway.
