[Nov 1, 2002] High Tech Awards finalists

November 1, 2002
By Jeff Meredith

CHICAGO - Eleven companies have been selected as finalists in KPMG’s 19th Annual High Tech Awards competition and four winners will be chosen during the 2002 ceremony on Monday, November 25 at Chicago's Ritz-Carlton Hotel. I-Street uncovered the information in advance of an official announcement expected November 4.

"It was an extremely difficult voting process this year," said Judy Freeman, partner in charge of KPMG's Information, Communications, and Entertainment practice. "All of the nominees had solid companies, but these 11 finalists in particular, exhibit sound vision, great ideas, and strong management teams. We believe they are capable of making significant contributions to our state's economy."

A panel consisting of academics, lawyers, accountants, media and state and local government officials chose the finalists, which include:

gomembers, Inc., a Lombard-based software and Internet company that provides software for member-based organizations and associations.

Hostway Corporation, a Chicago-based provider of web hosting services and online business tools.

Hubbard One, a Chicago-based provider of web sites, intranets, extranets, and content management software.

Ignite Sports, Inc., a Chicago-based web designer/developer that focuses on sites for sports franchises.

Kanbay Incorporated, a Rosemont-based global systems integrator.

Knightsbridge Solutions, a Chicago-based systems integration and consulting firm.

Product Development Technologies (PDT), a Lincolnshire-based full service product design and development company offering expertise in fast injection mold producting tooling, laser inspection, die cast tooling, and reverse engineering capabilities.

SPSS Inc., a Chicago-based company focused on business intelligence and data mining.

Telephone and Data Systems, Inc., a Chicago-based telecommunications company with wireless and wireline telephone operations.

Telution, Inc., a Chicago-based manufacturer of software for back-office functions.

TUSC, an Oracle consulting company based in Lombard.
